Fast casual restaurant concept in downtown OKC
This 2,500 square foot project, completed in collaboration with Rogers Marvel Architects, was set in the historic 1923 Braniff building in downtown Oklahoma City. The focus was to provide clean, modern design without sacrificing the beautiful detailing and historic bones of the existing space. To help achieve this we worked closely with local artisans to restore the existing ornate plaster ceiling coffers. The lighting fixtures, made in NYC by Modulightor, were the perfect solution to an ornamental chandelier that does not compete with the intricacy of the original ceiling plane. The concept of “Kitchen” was important here – as the kitchen is turned inside out and displayed to the diners. We worked with local carpenters and upholsterers to craft all of the food display fixtures as well as the large scale seating elements. The custom designed banquettes are a modern interpretation of traditional tufting patterns and the dark green Kvadrat fabric provides a rich background for the dining area.
